Head of the Household $21.62 Purchase of this book includes free trial access to www.million-books.com where you can read more than a million books for free. This is an OCR edition with typos. Excerpt from book: IV ANNETTE MARSTON Garth rode on an omnibus from Kensington Palace Gardens to Bruton Street. In spite of an effort to bear his lot manfully, especially in the presence of Ursula, who had, in a manner, taken what might have been his own, Garth felt his disappointment acutely. Hitherto his path had been remarkably smooth, and having traversed it successfully for a considerable distance, it seemed humiliating to turn back to the beginning. The Marstons were amply endowed with the world’s goods, and although Annette’s brother, at present with his regiment in South Africa, would naturally be his father’s heir, she derived a pleasing sense of independence from an income of eight hundred pounds a year in her own right. Garth had met her about a year ago at the house of Sir Marsham Goldney, whose second wife, considerably younger than himself, was an intimate friend of Annette’s. By the time Garth rang the bell in Braton Street his nerves were highly strung and he was in a mood to be sensitive to a word. He asked to see Annette, but was taken by the butler to Mr Marston’s smoking-room at the end of the hall. A few minutes later the door opened and Garth experienced a slight shock on seeing Mr Marston, a man of sixty, whose chief virtue seemed to be his paternity. He was tall and slim, well-dressed and not without a suggestion of primness; with grey hair, a pink-and-white skin and a delicate, handsome face. His manner appeared embarrassed and he spent an unnecessarily long time in shutting the door before turning to offer a perfunctory hand to his guest. Ah, Anderson! You look brown after your voyage. Upon my word, he added, I believe you’ve put on flesh. Is Annette all right? asked Garth. Sit down, Anderson, sit down, Mr Marston continued, but Garth s… |

The 2007-2012 Outlook For Household And Person-Weighing Scales In Japa $609 This study covers the latent demand outlook for household and person-weighing scales across the prefectures and cities of Japan. Latent demand (in millions of U.S. dollars), or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.) estimates are given across some 1,000 cities in Japan. For each city in question, the percent share the city is of its prefecture and of Japan is reported. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a city vis-`-vis others. This statistical approach can prove very useful to distribution and/or sales force strategies. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each prefecture and city, latent demand estimates are created for household and person-weighing scales. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved. |

Household : 6130234864 $65.35 The household is the basic residential unit in which economic production, consumption, inheritance, child rearing, and shelter are organized and carried out; [the household] may or may not be synonymous with family. The household is the basic unit of analysis in many social, microeconomic and government models. The term refers to all individuals who live in the same dwelling. In economics, a household is a person or a group of people living in the same residence. Most economic models do not address whether the members of a household are a family in the traditional sense. Government and policy discussions often treat the terms household and family as synonymous, especially in western societies where the nuclear family has become the most common family structure.[dubious-discuss] In reality, there is not always a one-to-one relationship between households and families. |
